How matching works
- The LEI (GLEIF) is the backbone. Where a register record carries the same LEI, the match is a fact (✓ Matched on LEI).
- Where a register record sits under a related or retired LEI of the same legal entity (proven by the GLEIF successor link, or an identical legal name + jurisdiction), it is shown as confirmed via related LEI — a fact for the entity, labelled so you can see the basis. A retired LEI is marked superseded and listed under its active successor.
- Records that only share the name (no LEI, different entity) are shown separately as possibilities (~ by name) — different entities can share a name, so these are never merged into the verified profile.
- CASP status comes from ESMA’s register (LEI-fill ~98%); white papers from ESMA’s register; EMI/PSD and sanctions are deep-links to the official registers (we do not assert them here).
- Data is fetched live from GLEIF and refreshed daily from ESMA. HELMS stores nothing about your search.
