Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 June 2026
HELMS Advisory ("HELMS", "we", "us") operates this website and acts as the data controller for personal data collected through it. For any privacy query, or to exercise your data-protection rights under the EU GDPR and other applicable law, contact info@helmsadvisory.com. Providing personal data is voluntary; if you choose not to provide it, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or provide a requested feature.
Data we process
- Enquiry data you submit through our forms, live chat or email — your name, work email and the content of your message.
- Booking data if you use the third-party scheduling widget (Cal.com), which is handled under Cal.com's own privacy policy.
- Technical and security data — our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) processes connection data, including IP address, on a transient basis to deliver and protect the site. We do not retain this data for analytics.
- Anonymous usage statistics — country, device type and pages viewed, measured without cookies and without storing IP addresses or any information that identifies you.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and our services are not directed to children.
Why we process it and our legal basis
- To respond to enquiries and to provide or prepare to provide our services — performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps at your request.
- To operate, maintain and secure the website and to compile anonymous, cookieless usage statistics — our legitimate interests in running a secure and functional site.
- Where the law requires it (for example, certain optional third-party features), we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Cookies
We use only cookies strictly necessary to operate the site, together with any cookie set by a third-party feature you actively choose to use (such as the booking widget). We do not set first-party analytics or advertising cookies.
Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers ("processors") acting on our instructions under appropriate data-processing terms — including our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) and the messaging and email tools we use to receive and respond to your enquiry — and with the booking provider where you choose to use it. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA or the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention
We keep enquiry data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above and, in any event, no longer than 24 months, unless a longer period is required by law. Live-chat messages are deleted within 48 hours. Anonymous usage statistics are kept for up to 30 days.
Automated decisions
We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, and correction, deletion, restriction or portability of, your personal data, and you may object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email info@helmsadvisory.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
External links
Our site may link to third-party sites and services that we do not control and that are governed by their own privacy policies.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its "last updated" date, is always published on this page.
